Integrated Bar of the Philippines Makati Chapter

Kythe's Summer Days of Fun

On 21 May 2016, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Makati Chapter ("IBP - Makati"), in collaboration with Kythe Foundation (“Kythe”), participated in one of Kythe’s Summer Days of Fun activities in Quirino Memorial Medical Center.
Kythe  is a non-profit, non-stock organization aimed towards improving the quality of life among hospitalized children with cancer and other chronic illness. Kythe builds a conducive hospital environment through the Kythe Child Life Program, which addresses the fears, pain, and sadness of children with chronic illnesses, allowing them to play, grow, and develop like regular kids.
President Gbert Zerrudo jumpstarted the event by delivering inspiring words to the hospitalized children on how they can continue to play and enjoy their lives despite and while receiving appropriate medical care. Ms. Maria Fatima Garcia-Lorenzo, Executive Director of Kythe, also introduced Khythe to the officers and members of IBP – Makati.
Then, officers and members of IBP-Makati together with Kythe volunteers played numerous fun-filled games with the hospitalized children which brought smile to their faces. The children were given toys, books and candies. After the games, the children and their parents were treated with a delicious lunch.
The experience was enjoyable but, more importantly, eye-opening and humbling. It has shown how IBP – Makati in collaboration with Kythe can give generously to those not as materially blessed as us.
