BENEVOLENCE, INTEGRITY, AND SERVICE : A Summary of the IBP Makati Chapter's Accomplishments for the Years 2013 to 2015

When the newly-elected Board of Directors and Officers assumed the leadership of the IBP Makati Chapter in 2013, Chapter President Atty. Bienvenido I. Somera, Jr. resolved to be guided simply by three simple virtues: benevolence, integrity, and service. These virtues encapsulate his passion and desire to simply do what needs to be done. The achievements of the Chapter for the past two 2 years reflect the devotion and conviction exhibited by his leadership in leading its members to fulfill their duties to Philippine society and the legal profession with the guidance of, among others, the following objectives: 1 Leading the Chapter into the digital age; 2 Taking a stand on the burning issues of the times; 3 Contributions to the Administration of Justice; 4 Traditional legal aid for the underprivileged and the oppressed; 5 Commitment to social causes through developmental legal aid; and 6 Promotion of fellowship and camaraderie among members....

Please be advised that our Chapter shall be holding its election of Executive Officers and Directors for the 2015 - 2017 term on February 28, 2015 Saturday at the Cameron Forbes Room of the Manila Polo Club, McKinley Road, Forbes Park, Makati City from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. President's Report for the Last Quarter of 2014

REPORT OF THE IBP MAKATI CHAPTER For the Period September to December 2014 The third trimester of 2014 bore witness to the Chapter’s continuing efforts to maintain its firm commitment to revolutionize the dispensation of justice in the country and to promote the welfare of the marginalized. General Matters On 25 November 2014, the Chapter joined the IBP National Office in celebrating the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women by participating in the Philippine Commission on Women’s “Walk to End VAW” at the Quezon City Memorial Circle. Lawyers from the Chapter volunteered to set up and man the IBP National Office’s Public Service & Crisis Center for the accommodation of legal inquiries and the extension of assistance relating to the protection and enforcement of women’s rights....
